We at AlleyKat Collective are thrilled to announce that Connor Fogarty will work with us as Composer for Elpis, Captif de Pandore. The upcoming second development of Elpis will be the first opportunity for Connor to work alongside Kathryn and Alexis to help create our first theatre production, in which the music and soundscape will play such an important role in creating Pandora's Box and bringing Elpis to life.

Connor Fogarty is an emerging composer based in Adelaide, South Australia. He began his composition studies in his hometown of Toowoomba at the University of Southern Queensland and was tutored by Professor Rhoderick McNeill. He graduated from USQ with distinction and was awarded the Creative Arts Faculty Medal. In 2019 he moved to Adelaide to continue his studies at the Elder Conservatorium of Music with Professor Graeme Koehne and Professor Charles Bodman Rae. He graduated with first-class honours and is now continuing with postgraduate studies at the Elder Conservatorium, where his research topic involves writing a new concerto for clarinet and wind orchestra.

Connor has had works performed by symphony orchestras, wind orchestras, chamber groups and soloists, and has collaborated with filmmakers, dancers and theatre artists. In 2019 he won the inaugural Adelaide Wind Orchestra Young Composers Competition and two movements of his first string quartet were performed by the Australian String Quartet. He was recently selected to take part in the 2020 Artology Fanfare Competition, which will see his work recorded by the Australian Youth Orchestra and broadcast in venues across the country. Connor seeks to write music that audiences can immediately engage with, emphasising rhythmic drive, lyricism, rich harmonies and evocative textures.

We are excited by the experience, credentials and accomplishments achieved by Connor so early in his career, and we believe he will continue to contribute greatly to the broader South Australian arts community in the years to come. We are ecstatic to collaborate on Elpis, Captif de Pandore with such an exciting emerging composer such as Connor.
